Prof. Narender Singh Thakur

Professor (Dr.) Narender Singh Thakur, College of Forestry, Navsari Agricultural University, Gujarat, India has more than 20 years of research, teaching and guiding experience in forestry. Prof. Thakur has published more than 120 research articles in national & international journals, 16 book & seminar/conference proceeding chapters, one edited book, five national and international conference/seminar proceedings etc. He has released first ever tree variety (Gujarat Melia dubia-1; GNMD-1) from Gujarat. He has been pioneer in entering an MoU between Greenply Industries and NAU, Navsari for better outreach fast growing in agroforestry and tree produce to wood based industry. He has guided 4 Doctoral and 12 Master’s students in as major guide.  In capacity of organizing secretary, he has organized two national/international conferences. He has Brandis Prize, 2009 and Achiever's Award-2018 and 11 best oral/poster presentation awards to his credit. He is Fellow of Indian Ecological Society, Ludhiana, Punjab and SADHNA Solan (H.P.). He is associate editor in four and reviewer more than 20 national and international journals.
